Hippie CEO Life #45 - The Power of Mentoring

February 17, 2023

“Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.”

Denzel Washington

This week, i was announced as one of the newest industry advisors at East Tennessee State University’s Research Corporation. As part of my role, i will be working to support various Research Corporation initiatives as well as continuing my role as a part-time lecturer and mentor for ETSU students.

In a business world that teaches people that it’s a “dog eat dog” world in which you have to do whatever it takes to be successful even if it means hurting other people, a world where those who get promoted into senior leadership roles often refuse to offer a helping hand to others on the way up, it’s important to remember that none of us got to where we are today without the selfless help of mentors who have climbed big mountains before we even began.

With that said, all of us can be mentors. Whether you're a young professional just starting out or an experienced expert looking to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and industry developments, mentoring can help unlock potential and achieve incredible goals for both the mentor and mentee. It’s really important to understand that we all have something meaningful and valuable to offer others.

But mentoring is more than just a way to advance your own career. It's also a way to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the world. By helping the next generation of professionals succeed, you can help shape the future of whatever industry you work in and ensure that it continues to thrive.

As an entrepreneur, i firmly believe that giving back has been a key factor in my success. Throughout my career, i have always made an effort to give back to my community and to help the next generation of analysts succeed.

Giving back has been personally fulfilling and has helped me maintain a sense of purpose and meaning in my work. It has reminded me that success is not just about achieving my own goals, but about making a positive impact on the world and helping others achieve their dreams.

What can i do for you?

✌🏼💛
