Hippie CEO Life #34 - The Importance of Cadence

December 2, 2022

“Changes that seem small and unimportant at first will compound and turn into remarkable results if you’re willing to stick with them for years.” ~ James Clear, Atomic Habits

This year, i’ve been really focused on the importance of cadences.

And as we are coming up on "New Years Resolutions" season, i thought it would be good to chat a bit about the importance of "cadences."

The majority of New Years Resolutions never make it past February. Our resolutions don't fizzle out half way through February because we choose really audacious goals, they fizzle out because we fail to set proper cadences for achieving those audacious goals.

Starting things is easy, we all get excited and have energy to start new things, but it's in literally moving things forward 1" a day, even when we aren't seeing the results we want to see, in which we are able to complete really big goals.

This concept was cemented for me after reading James Clear’s book Atomic Habits. If you haven’t read it, i highly recommend you pick up a copy.

The idea is that we work at achieving big things by using a cadence of doing a little bit, over a long period of time. The secret is that when you don’t see the results you want, you keep pushing because the results are there, they are happening every day but on such a small scale, you often don’t see them until there is a tipping event in which all of a sudden a result is visible.

Keep pushing your ideas forward, a little bit, day by day, and if you commit to a cadence, you will 100% start to see results.

You can do big, important things by doing just a little bit every day.

LET’S GO!!!!
