Big Mac Copycat

Big Mac Copycat with French Fries

This is one of those times where the copycat is way better than the original.

Servings: 5 Hamburgers

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck (i like to use 85/15)
1 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
5 whole hamburger buns + 5 extra bottom buns
1/2 Cup Big Mac Sauce
5 Tablespoons minced onion
1/2 Head of iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
5 Slices American cheese
15 Dill pickle slices
4 Tablespoons softened butter

Instructions

1. Weigh and separate burgers into 10 equal portions. It comes out close to around 67 grams each.

2. Place each burger portion between two sheets of parchment paper and using a skillet, apply medium and even force to smash the burger down. The patties should be pretty flat.

3. Generously salt one side of each patty with seasoning salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Place on a baking sheet and set aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

4. Shred lettuce, wash, and throughly dry.

5. Finely mince onion.

6. Butter the cut side of each bun and both sides of the extra bottom bun. Toast on a griddle, over medium heat, until golden brown. Set aside.

7. On a pre-heated skillet, cook hamburger patties, flipping once, over high heat. The patties should have a nice, dark brown crust on both sides when done.

8. Build the burgers:

1. Bottom Bun: Sauce, onions, lettuce, cheese, burger

2. Middle Bun: Sauce, onions, lettuce, pickles, burger

3. Top Bun
