Supporting Our Friends

It seems like every morning, i log onto LinkedIn and see another "Open to Work" badge, another talented friend announcing they've been let go.

It's not just numbers or employee ids. These are real people. People i know. People i've worked with. Please i've dined with.

Real, super talented people who are now in the fog of uncertainty. It breaks my heart.

i feel like we need to talk about this. It is weighing very heavy on me. And i feel pretty helpless.

You may not know this but i've been there too. i've been let go twice in my career. Each time, it felt like a punch to the gut, something that literally takes your breath away. i questioned my self worth, my skills, my abilities, and my future.

But, over time out alright. And i don't want to be glib about it but it will for those going through this challenge right now.

Remember, you're not alone. You're a part of a bigger community that cares, that gets it.

Let's lift each other up. Let's help each other out if we can.

A simple act of caring creates an endless ripple.
